Terms of Service
Last Updated: April 17, 2025
Welcome to Vandemir! We provide Qualified Custodian (QC) services for electronic wills (eWills) in Washington State. By using our website and services, you agree to these Terms of Service (ToS). Please read them carefully.
1. What We Do
We’re a Qualified Custodian under Washington State law (RCW 11.12.400 et seq.). Our main job is to:
Store Your eWill Safely: We keep your electronic will secure using encryption and tamper-proof methods.
Hold It Until You Pass: We store your eWill for your lifetime.
Act After Your Death: When we get your death certificate, we’ll deliver your eWill to your Personal Representative (PR) or file it with the court clerk within 30 days, as required by RCW 11.20.010.
2. Pricing and What You Get (Our pricing is subject to change from time to time)
One-Time Payment: For a single fee of $395, you get:
Secure storage of your eWill for your lifetime.
Delivery or filing of your eWill after your death when we receive your death certificate.
Optional Monthly Subscription: For $2 per month, you can add:
Online access to view your eWill anytime.
Unlimited updates to your eWill, securely stored each time.
Ability to download your eWill as a PDF.
Certified Copies: If you want a certified copy of your eWill (a verified paper version), we can provide it currently for a fee of $20 per copy (subject to change at any time), as allowed by RCW 11.12.480. This is available to you or your attorney upon request.
3. Your Responsibilities
Provide Accurate Info: Give us your correct eWill and any updates you want stored.
Pay On Time: Pay the one-time fee and any subscription fees when due.
Tell Us Who to Contact: Let us know your PR or who should get your eWill after you pass.
4. What We’re Not Responsible For
Lost Death Certificates: We can’t act until we receive your death certificate.
Third-Party Actions: We’re not liable if banks or others don’t accept our certified copies—that’s up to their rules.
Tech Issues: We’ll do our best, but we’re not responsible for website downtime or tech glitches beyond our control.
5. Subscription Cancellation
You can cancel your monthly subscription anytime by emailing us at info@vandemir.com. We’ll stop charging you, and you’ll lose access to online viewing, updates, and PDF downloads. The one-time payment services (storage and post-death delivery) continue regardless.
6. Certified Copies
We can give you or your attorney a certified copy of your eWill if you ask. It’s a verified version to prove it’s real. Banks or others might ask for this, but we can’t guarantee they’ll accept it—that depends on them. Each copy currently costs $20, but is subject to change at any time.
7. Privacy
We keep your eWill private and secure. We only share it with:
You or your attorney while you’re alive (if requested).
Your PR or the court after your death, as required by law.
We follow Washington State privacy laws to protect your info.
8. Changes to These Terms
We might update these terms. If we do, we’ll post the new version on our website and let you know by email if it’s a big change. Keep using our services, and you agree to the updates.
9. Ending Our Services
We can stop being your QC if:
You ask us to stop (we’ll need to transfer your eWill to another QC via a Qualified Transfer).
We can’t legally continue (e.g., law changes).
We maintain the discretion to transfer your eWill to another qualified custodian, and will notify you of the transfer via an electronic email notification to the last contact email that you provided.

11. Legal Stuff
These terms follow Washington State law. If there’s a dispute, it’ll be handled in Clark County courts.
Privacy Policy
At Vandemir, we take your privacy seriously. As your Qualified Custodian (QC) under Washington State law, we store and manage your electronic will (eWill) with care. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and how we protect it. By using our website and services, you agree to this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only what we need to store your eWill and provide our services:
Your eWill: The electronic will you give us to store.
Personal Info: Your name, email, phone number, and address so we can contact you.
Payment Info: Credit card or billing details for the one-time fee or monthly subscription.
Death Certificate: After you pass, we’ll need this from your Personal Representative (PR) or someone else to act on your eWill.
Optional Info: If you tell us your PR’s name or contact details, we’ll keep that too.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your info to:
Store Your eWill: Keep it safe and secure until you pass.
Act After Your Death: Deliver your eWill to your PR or file it with the court clerk within 30 days of getting your death certificate, as required by RCW 11.20.010.
Provide Services: Let you access or update your eWill online (if you have the subscription) or send you certified copies if you ask.
Contact You: Email or call you about your account or updates to our services.
Process Payments: Handle your one-time fee or monthly subscription charges.
3. Who We Share Your Information With
We keep your eWill and personal info private. We only share it when we have to or when you tell us to:
You or Your Attorney: We’ll give you or your attorney access or certified copies if you ask while you’re alive.
Your PR or the Court: After your death, we’ll share your eWill with your PR or file it with the court clerk, as required by Washington State law.
Service Providers: We use trusted companies (like payment processors or secure storage providers) to help us run our services. They only see what they need and must keep it confidential.
Legal Requirements: If a court or law forces us to share your info, we’ll comply but only as much as we have to.
We don’t sell your info or share it with anyone else unless it’s listed here.
4. How We Protect Your Information
We take strong steps to keep your eWill and personal info safe:
Encryption: Your eWill is stored with encryption, similar to what your bank uses.
Tamper-Proof Storage: We use systems to prevent changes or loss.
Limited Access: Only our trained staff can access your info, and only when needed.
Secure Website: Our site uses protections like HTTPS to keep your data safe online.
5. Your Choices
Access or Updates: If you have the monthly subscription, you can view or update your eWill online anytime. Without it, contact us to request access.
Certified Copies: Ask us for a certified copy of your eWill for a small fee (see our Terms of Service).
Stop Sharing: While you’re alive, we won’t share your eWill unless you say so (except as required by law). After your death, we follow the law to deliver or file it.
6. How Long We Keep Your Information
During Your Lifetime: We keep your eWill and info as long as we are legally required to.
After Your Death: Once we deliver or file your eWill, we may keep a copy for own records.
7. Cookies and Tracking
Our website might use cookies (small files on your device) to make it work better—like remembering your login if you have the subscription. We don’t use them to track you for ads or sell your data. You can turn off cookies in your browser, but it might affect how our site works for you.
8. Children’s Privacy
Our services are for adults 18 and older. We don’t knowingly collect info from kids under 18. If we find out we have, we’ll delete it right away.
